We are honoured to announce that Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.Q., C.D., Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada has graciously accepted our invitation to be the Viceregal Patron of Canada`s Naval Memorial – HMCS Sackville. Her Excellency is the 29th Governor General of Canada and the fourth woman to be appointed.
Prior to her installation Governor General Payette was an astronaut, engineer, scientific broadcaster and corporate director.
Her Excellency has received many distinctions and 28 honorary doctorates. She is an Officer of the Order of Canada and a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec.

Nous sommes fiers d’annoncer que Son Excellence la très honorable Julie Payette, CC CMM, COM, CQ, CQ, CD, la gouverneure générale et commandante en chef du Canada a gracieusement accepté notre demande de devenir présidente d’honneur du mémorial naval canadien, le NCSM Sackville.
Avant de devenir gouverneure générale, Mme Payette a été astronaute, ingénieure, communicatrice scientifique et administratrice de sociétés.
Son Excellence a reçu de nombreuses distinctions, dont 28 doctorats honoris causa. Elle est Officier de l’Ordre du Canada et chevalière de l’Ordre national du Québec.
